| Adak Island is remote, to say the least. Located on the far western end of the Aleutians near Russia, it is known as \the birthplace of wind'. It is a harsh, cold landscape. The salmon don't mind, though. Each fall, thousands crowd virgin streams to spawn in a landscape unscathed by human activity. |
